Science Week

Celebrate Science Week at KidZania London from the 10th – 12th March 2020!

To coincide with British Science Week, pupils can explore jobs in the science field, gaining an deeper understanding of the human body and creating sustainable energy for the future. Read on to find out more about the activities on offer…

The Science of Living Things

Designed with the National Curriculum and Key Stages 1-3 in mind, kids can be come experts in veterinary care, whilst performing surgery on a patient in the PDSA Pet hospital. Here, kids are introduced to the idea that all living things have certain characteristics that are essential for keeping them alive and healthy.

Children can also enter the KidZania Hospital and learn how to save a life in the operating theatre as a surgeon! Using specialist medical equipment and tools, a team of young doctors must play an important role in helping our patient work towards a quick and healthy recovery.

In line with the KS3 National Curriculum, kids will learn about the function of blood cells, the function of key organs and what is required for good health.

PLUS!

At the Shell service station, kids are invited to learn about and create energy in an action-packed Lab, right next to the Shell Garage Forecourt. Energy Champions will learn about the energy of the past and the future as they refuel cars, fix tyre pressures and then move to the Energy Lab for a fun experiment.

The creation of their own fuel will power-up mini cars which they can race – the perfect way to learn about energy transfer as well as motion and forces!

Only by completing all of these challenges and more can kids earn a certification as a fully fledged scientist of the city – what an achievement!

London’s Air Ambulance Charity

London’s Air Ambulance Charity delivers rapid response and cutting edge medical care to save lives in the city, and we are proud to bring them to KidZania for several events throughout 2020.

Introducing children to the work of the air ambulance service, the various roles in the team and the lifesaving service the charity provides, the team will also bring along a larger than life giant Operation game to test kids knowledge of the human body – perfect for those looking at careers in science, medicine or helicopter piloting!

The team will be based in the theatre on the 3rd, 4th & 5th March as well as the 10th, 11th and 12th March.
